EAST MOLINE, Ill. — The driver allegedly responsible for the East Moline crash that killed 22-year-old Amia Weathers has been arrested, according to the Rock Island County Sheriff's Office.
In a post published to the office's Facebook page, authorities announced the arrest of 22-year-old Kendra Lee Curtis of Moline, the driver involved in the Nov. 7 crash that resulted in Weathers' death.
The accident was allegedly the result of Curtis losing control at high speed, causing the vehicle to roll and eject Weathers. Curtis and another passenger, a 24-year-old East Moline man, were injured and sent to the hospital.
Curtis is charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence involving death or serious injury.
She is being held in the Rock Island County Jail on a $500,000 bond awaiting a court appearance.
