The friends of David Harker will hold a benefit for his family Friday night, October 25, 2013.
Police say that Harker went missing early Sunday morning, September 29th. By day break Monday, about a dozen volunteers came out to start searching for him. They looked for him near the Twenty Sports Bar in downtown Moline.
Wednesday morning, October 2nd, police found Harker's body in the Mississippi River near Buffalo Shores. Police believe his death was accidental.
Later that night, friends held a candle light vigil for the family at Lincoln Park in Rock Island. Hundreds attended the event.
Friends are holding Friday's benefit at St. Pius Farrell Hall in Rock Island. The building is attached to the Jordan Catholic School. It starts at 6 p.m.
There will be food, live music, and raffle prizes at the event. All donations go to Harker's wife Kadie and their two children Ryan and Dorothy.
