Police and family members are searching for a man last seen leaving a nightclub in downtown Moline.
Moline Police say 28-year-old David Harker was last seen leaving Twenty Sports Grille and Nightclub, at 1405 Fifth Avenue, during the early-morning hours Sunday, September 29, 2013.
Police said Harker was last heard from just before 2 a.m.
A Facebook community called “Help find David Harker” was privately established, and it included a post indicating Harker was wearing blue jeans, a checkered jacket, black shoes and a grey t-shirt with a diamond-shaped flag and the word “Freedom” on the front.
The post also indicated Harker’s cell phone was currently not working, and that he left his work cell phone in his car that he left at the home of a friend.
Another post on that Facebook page said, “The last call he made was on the one ways near 11th st. at 1:56am heading towards Rock Island.” That post was accompanied by a photo of Harker captured by a surveillance camera.
Friends believe Harker probably tried to walk from Twenty to his home near Lincoln Park in Rock Island.
One report indicated the last confirmed sighting of Harker was at about 3 a.m. Sunday at 16th Avenue and Second Street.
Friends and family gathered to resume searching for Harker on Monday morning, September 30. The search continued into the afternoon hours that day, and searchers were working carefully to check dead-end streets and ravines between downtown Moline and Harker’s home in Rock Island.
More searchers were expected to join the effort at 4 and 5 p.m. Monday afternoon. Those searchers were asked to first check in at Moline Police headquarters to help centralize information and keep the search focused.
The search included individuals and area businesses distributing copies of a flier describing Harker.
Anyone with information about David Harker is asked to contact Moline Police at (309) 797-0401.
