The death of a Rock Island man has been ruled accidental.

According to the Moline Police Department, no foul play was involved in the drowning of 28-year-old David Harker. The autopsy was completed on Wednesday, October 3, 2013.

Mr. Harker was last seen on Sunday, September 29 in Moline. His body was found on Wednesday, October 3 in the Mississippi River.

“Social media proved its value to law enforcement in this search, but local traditional media coverage drove the story pushing many volunteers toward the find David Harker Facebook page,” said Scott Williams from the Moline Police Department. “And for that we are also thankful.”

A benefit to help raise money for Mr. Harker’s wife and two children has been scheduled for Friday, October 25.
