Police have released more photos and information as they search for a Rockford man accused of committing two murders in two days.
According to the Illinois State Police, 36-year-old Terence Doddy of Rockford, Illinois is a suspect in the murders of 44-year-old Tonya Bargman of Monticello, Illinois, and 37-year-old Todd Hansmeier.
Previous reports indicate that an attendant found Bargman’s body at the Willow Creek Rest stop Tuesday evening, July 1, 2014. That rest stop is about 16 miles north of LaSalle on I-39. State Police said surveillance video showed Bargman being attacked by a man as she was leaving the ladies room at the rest stop.
Doddy was reportedly seen leaving the rest area in Bargman’s car, a gray 2013 Nissan Altima with Illinois license plate BARGMN2.
Police say Doddy is also a suspect of Hansmeier’s murder, which happened at the QVSM call center on Monday, June 30, 2014 in Rockford, Illinois.
Investigators with the Illinois State Police released images from surveillance video that show Bargman’s Nissan, which has a silver colored “Illini Nissan” decal on the lower rear bumper and the Illinois registration BARGMN2.
Police say they are working with law enforcement nationwide to find Doddy.
On Thursday, July 3, 2014 police said they believe Doddy may have a blue dome-styled camping tent.
Police also released an updated photo of the suspect leaving a Rockford store with several items. Police are not releasing the name of the store at this time.
“Law enforcement officials continue to urge the public to take the necessary safety precautions when visiting rest stop areas, campgrounds and other outdoor areas during the holiday weekend,” said a spokesperson from the Illinois State Police.
