MORRISON, Illinois -- Two people were hospitalized after a shooting in Morrison, Illinois.
A 24-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man were injured in the shooting, which happened around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, according to Morrison Police Chief Brian Melton. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
Chief Melton said the injured woman was taken to a hospital in Sterling; she was listed in stable condition. The injured man was ultimately airlifted to Rockford and was listed in critical but stable condition.
Hours after the shooting, around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, 24-year-old Jeramie M. House was arrested and held in the Whiteside County Jail. He was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated battery, five counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm and one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
House, who is from Morrison, is awaiting his first court appearance in Whiteside County.
Police said the investigation is still considered "active" and were not able to answer any further questions about the incident.
