DAVENPORT, Iowa — A 13-year-old boy was arrested Halloween night after allegedly attacking a woman at gunpoint and stealing her car, according to the Davenport Police Department.
Police said that on Monday, Oct. 31 at about 8:41 p.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of Arlington Ave after a robbery/carjacking was reported.
After arriving, police were told that a woman's vehicle was stolen at gunpoint. During the incident, the suspect allegedly struck the woman in the head with a gun before taking her vehicle and leaving the scene. The victim did not receive notable injuries.
Later, at about 9:37 p.m., Rock Island police located the stolen car and attempted to stop it. The driver did not comply with the traffic stop and police began a pursuit.
The chase ended after the car crashed near I-280 and Airport Road. The suspect then led officers on a brief foot chase before he was apprehended.
The suspect, identified as a 13-year-old boy and remaining unnamed due to his age, is charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree theft in Davenport, as well as possession of a stolen motor vehicle, aggravated fleeing and no driver's license in Rock Island.
The incident remains under investigation and no further information is available.
