A powerful area of low pressure swept through the Midwest Tuesday night. For several hours, Tornado Watches were in effect across Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois. While a few Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued for the possibility of damaging wind, most areas escaped widespread tornado damage.
Tornadoes were spotted on the ground around Pontiac, Illinois, between Joliet and Bloomington-Normal. The tornadoes affected rural land with no damage being reported.
Survey crews from the Milwaukee National Weather Service will be assessing storm damage in Southeastern Wisconsin on Wednesday as rotation was seen on Doppler radar near the Lake Geneva area. That circulation moved northeast into Milwaukee's western suburbs from New Berlin to Waukesha.
No injuries have been reported with the storms.
