Two weeks after flooding forced them to close, Rhythm City casino was set to reopen.

The casino closed at 6 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 after flooding compromised access and safety for guests there and at several other riverfront venues along the Mississippi River.

Flooding had receded enough to allow safe access for casino guests and employees as of 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, according to Rhythm City General Manager Mo Hyder.

“We greatly appreciate the hard work of our team members, as well as the city employees who have made an extraordinary effort to protect not only our facility, but all of the buildings and businesses located downtown,” Hyder said.
