Police say Davenport man tried to kill his wife

A Davenport man is out of the hospital and in jail, accused of trying to kill his wife by lighting her on fire.

Lyn Kuan suffered severe burns when her 59-year-old husband, Tom Kuan, allegedly poured gasoline on them both and lit them on fire.

Tom Kuan was held in the Scott County Jail after he was released from the hospital Wednesday, January 23, 2013.

Tom Kuan is charged with first-degree arson, domestic abuse assault and attempt to commit murder.

He was jailed in lieu of $100,000 cash-only bond.   A judge will hear his motion for a reduction of his bond amount at a hearing set for January 29, 2013.
