By the numbers: How much rain fell across the Quad Cities on Wednesday?

A healthy helping of rainfall is just what the Quad Cities needed on Wednesday! Here's a look at totals across the metro.

MOLINE, Ill. — Farm fields, gardens and yards are a bit happier Wednesday following some much-needed rainfall across the Quad Cities area. 

Storms overnight and into late Wednesday morning brought in varying levels of rain, some seeing as much as 2 inches and others seeing about 0.39 inches overall.

As of Wednesday afternoon, there weren't many damage reports across the viewing area. 

Here's a look at rainfall totals from StormTrack8:

  • 0.39 inches: Moline, Illinois.
  • 2.00 inches: Mineral, Illinois.
  • 2.00 inches: Manlius, Illinois. 
  • 0.84 inches: Sterling, Illinois.
  • 1.49 inches: Geneseo, Illinois. 
  • 1.00 inch: Morrison, Illinois. 
  • 1.47 inches: Princeton, Illinois. 
  • 0.17 inches: Galesburg, Illinois.
  • 1.12 inches: Davenport, Iowa. 
  • 0.66 inches: Burlington, Iowa. 
  • 1.61 inches: Muscatine, Iowa.
  • 1.26 inches: Clinton, Iowa. 

The National Weather Service of the Quad Cities had "numerous" reports of rainfall as well from these showers. Walcott, Iowa saw 2.25 inches. Farther east, Iowa City Airport reported 1.57 inches total.
