How much rain fell around the Quad Cities yesterday?

Small storms scattered around the QC metro created vastly different rainfall numbers.

MOLINE, Ill. — Scattered showers and thunderstorms cleared the course at the John Deere Classic Pro-Am tournament. The clouds reached far beyond the TPC Deere Run, though.

According to StormTrack8 Meteorologist Andrew Stutzke, Alpha, Illinois, took the brunt of the rainfall with 4.5 inches recorded.

Manlius followed with 1.25 inches, and Clinton wasn't far behind with 1.11 inches.

Burlington received 0.83 inches, Princeton, Illinois received 0.69 inches and Galesburg received 0.53 inches.

The remaining recorded areas received less than a quarter inch of rain. That includes Geneseo, Davenport, Muscatine, DeWitt, Sterling and Morrison.

Stutzke also shared the current drought status of the Quad Cities area. While 27% of the area remains in a moderate drought and 3% is in an extreme drought, he predicts these areas will see relief soon.
