MOLINE, Ill — Update Tuesday: Storm Track 8's Weather Impact Alert continues for Tuesday as dangerously high temperatures continue to impact the region. An excessive heat warning continues for most of the area, with indices expected to reach 105 to 115 degrees.
The risk of severe weather has jumped to a level two out of five threat for the region as well, with wind and hail being the main threats. The timing of those storms is between 4 and 11 p.m. Storm Track 8 Meteorologist Andrew Stutzke said the system doesn't have the right ingredients for a true significant/organized severe threat but a few gusty storms are likely.
Previous Weather Impact Alert forecast from Monday:
A Weather Impact Alert has been issued for Monday and Tuesday due to dangerously high heat being in the forecast.
On Monday, highs will be in the mid to upper 90s. An excessive heat warning has been issued between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Feels-like temperatures could get up around the mid-to-high 100s.
With this excessive heat, be sure to stay hydrated and take breaks inside with some air conditioning!
Tuesday brings the second Storm Track 8 Weather Impact Alert Day. Expect more sunshine and feels-like temperatures well into the 100s, with some of our hometowns potentially breaking the 110 mark. There is also a level one out of five marginal threat for severe thunderstorms on Tuesday evening. The storms will be scattered.
Temperatures will trend a little cooler for Wednesday and Thursday with highs around 90. Both Wednesday and Thursday bring chances for storms and showers late.
