Snow emergencies in the Quad Cities | Jan. 11-14

Here's when parking restrictions will be in place for cities and towns around the Quad Cities beginning Thursday, Jan. 11.

MOLINE, Ill. — Snow is in the forecast for much of the Quad Cities area, meaning cities are making sure residents are aware of parking restrictions being implemented ahead of Friday's winter storm.

Below you'll find a list of Iowa and Illinois cities close to the Mississippi River with ordinances in place. 

This story will be updated with more information as News 8 receives it.

Illinois

Coal Valley

The Village of Coal Valley has issued a Snow Emergency from Friday at midnight through Saturday at noon.

Galesburg

The City of Galesburg has issued a snow emergency effective Friday at 6 a.m. until further notice.

Geneseo

Officials in Geneseo announced that a snow emergency in the city will go into effect at 5 a.m. Friday and run through 10 a.m. Saturday.

Moline

Moline Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati has declared a snow emergency effective beginning at 9 p.m. on Thursday, due to the National Weather Service’s issuing a Winter Storm Warning in effect through 6 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14.

Morrison

The City of Morrison has declared a snow emergency effective Friday at 12 a.m. until further notice.

Rock Island

The City of Rock Island is declaring a snow emergency until further notice.

Rock Falls

The City of Rock Falls has declared a snow emergency effective Friday at 7 a.m. and ending on Monday at 11 a.m.

During the snow emergency, no parking is permitted on any designated snow route. Odd/even parking restrictions still apply on any street not on the official snow route, as well.

Silvis

The City of Silvis is declaring a snow emergency effective 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11 until approximately 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13.

Sterling

The City of Sterling has declared a snow emergency effective Thursday, Jan. 11 starting at 5 p.m.

Walnut

The Village of Walnut has issued a snow emergency from Jan. 12 starting at 12 a.m. and continuing until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Iowa

Blue Grass

The City of Blue Grass has declared a Winter Weather Emergency beginning at 6 p.m. Monday and extending until Saturday, Jan. 13.

Durant

The City of Durant has issued a snow emergency from 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11 through noon Saturday, Jan. 12. No parking is allowed on streets. All vehicles parked on streets will be ticketed.

Eldridge

The City of Eldridge Iowa has declared a snow emergency from midnight Friday, Jan. 11, through noon on Saturday, Jan. 13.

The City of Muscatine has declared a snow emergency starting at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, through 7 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14.
