ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The Mississippi River is expected to crest in the Quad Cities at 15.4 feet on Wednesday, March 25.
The National Weather Service is forecasting the river to remain at that level through Friday, before it begins to dip back below flood stage.
As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, the Mississippi River at Rock Island stood at 15.31 feet. Minor flood stage is 15 feet. This has prompted Credit Island Park to close, as well as the bike path between Marquette Park and Credit Island.
South Concord between River Drive and Wapello is also closed.
The river is expected to get below 15 feet by Tuesday, March 31.
