MILAN, Ill. — Update as of Monday, June 3 at 4:30 p.m.:
News 8 has received more information regarding the man who crashed his car Friday evening.
The Rock Island County coroner has identified the deceased as Matthew Baker, 42, of Milan, Illinois.
According to the Mercer County Sherriff's Office, Baker was fleeing from police when he crashed his car. He was out on bond for multiple charges including "criminal trespass to an occupied residence, domestic battery and multiple violations of an Order of Protection."
Police responded to a call about Baker violating an Order of Protection when the suspect fled from deputies. He was pursued for a short time before the pursuit was terminated, according to the release. Baker continued speeding before crashing.
An Order of Protection is administered "for cases of domestic abuse where the victim has a known relationship with the abuser," according to the Illinois Attorney General's website.

The 42-year-old man was driving in a 2017 Chevy Silverado north towards a curve in the highway when he failed to make the turn, sending the truck rolling before striking a tree. The man was thrown from his vehicle in the process.
The Rock Island County Coroner's Office pronounced him deceased at the scene. He was the only occupant in his vehicle.
The Rock Island Sheriff's Office is still investigating the crash. They are waiting to release the name of the driver until his family is notified.
