LE CLAIRE, Iowa — Smoke was coming from a semi-truck that pulled over on the Illinois-bound Interstate 80 near LeClaire, Iowa Monday morning, Jan. 4.
The LeClaire Police Department said a mechanical issue sparked a fire in the semi-truck but it can be repaired. There were injuries.
The LeClaire and Bettendorf Fire Departments both arrived on scene within minutes preventing the fire from spreading, police said.
The Iowa Department of Transportation's road cameras showed that traffic was slowed in the eastbound lanes near Mile Marker 303.
Traffic was running smoothly again around noon.
