MOLINE, Ill. — It's officially construction season in the Quad Cities.
Road work on 23rd Street from Middle Road to Lincoln Road in Bettendorf will begin Monday, April 17. Traffic on that portion of 23rd Street will be reduced to one lane for southbound travel only. A detour will be put in place for northbound traffic.
Crews will be doing routine road maintenance, including milling the existing concrete pavement, patching underlying concrete as needed, and widening the street to accommodate a new turning lane for The Landing, a new recreational space being built in Bettendorf. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times except during final paving operations. Short closures are expected and traffic will be detoured.
The entrance to Veterans Memorial Park is also being reconstructed as part of the project, which will require a full closure for approximately two weeks. A local detour will be put in place utilizing Lincoln Road and 25th Street to provide access from the south.
