WILTON, Iowa — One person is dead and three others are injured after a two-vehicle crash in Wilton, Iowa on Sunday, Sept. 22.
The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Taylor Avenue. Officials say a 2012 Nissan Juke was traveling northbound when it crossed the center line of the road and struck a southbound 2003 Ford Taurus.
Officials say both vehicles sustained severe damage in the crash.
A total of four people were involved in the crash. Two were transported by helicopter to a regional hospital for treatment, one of whom died as a result of their injuries.
A third person was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. A fourth person was injured but was not transported for treatment.
The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification. The Iowa State Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
