BUREAU COUNTY, Ill. — I-80 is scheduled to be closed to traffic in Bureau County overnight Monday, Nov. 27, and Tuesday, Nov. 28, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The westbound portion will be closed from 8 p.m. Monday until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The eastbound part will close at 8 p.m. Tuesday night and will reopen at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
A detour will be posted that will direct motorists to use Illinois 78, U.S. Highway 6 and Illinois 40.
The 11-mile stretch of road will be closed for work on the overpass on 470 East Road.
The work was originally set for Nov. 21 to 22 but was delayed in order to open up roadways to ease Thanksgiving holiday traffic.
