ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The I-80 Mississippi River bridge connecting Scott County in Iowa and Rock Island County in Illinois will undergo overnight maintenance starting Sunday, May 19.
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) said work will be done to wash the bridge. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next day until work is completed. It's expected to last one to two weeks.
Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes. A second bridge washing is scheduled for the fall.
