The Cities of Moline and Bettendorf announced on Wednesday that the I-74 bridge's pedestrian and bike path will close temporarily beginning on Monday, Oct. 24.
The path will close for the duration of the maintenance. Contractors will begin grinding the path's expansion joints to make the path more friendly for wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.
“We are committed to ensuring the path is accessible for all now and in the future," I-74 Corridor Manager George Ryan said. "This temporary closure will allow us to minimize future maintenance needs of the expansion joints."
The path is expected to re-open on Thursday, Oct. 27.
