Teenager injured after colliding with tree in Jo Daviess County

A teenager was transported to a nearby hospital for injuries they sustained in the crash.

STOCKTON, Ill. — A 16-year-old girl was injured in a single-vehicle accident on Wednesday, Nov. 29, when their vehicle veered off the roadway and entered a ditch in rural Jo Daviess County.

The accident was reported to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office around 9:52 p.m. An investigation determined that the teenager, who was the vehicle's lone occupant, was initially traveling westbound on East Townsend Road before losing control and entering a nearby ditch. The vehicle crashed through a fence before striking a tree.

The teenager was transported by ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.

The Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the cause of the crash. No other people were reported injured at the time of the incident.
