BETTENDORF, Iowa — The City of Bettendorf's 2024 Street Resurfacing Program will begin on Monday, May 13 with its first of five locations scheduled for the year.
The first site to go under construction is Weindruch Road from State Street to Devils Glen Park where works are expected to last approximately four weeks if weather permits.
“This annual program is part of the City’s Pavement Management Program, which started in 2015,” said Brent Morlok, city engineer. “Our street network is one of the City’s most important assets, and one that we invest in heavily to ensure that it remains in good working condition for the public. Our Pavement Management Program helps us make objective decisions on how to best allocate Capital Improvement Funding.”
As constructions wrap up at the first site (map above), the contractor in charge will choose the next site. The five locations to be worked on for the year are:
- Apple Valley Drive (4160 Apple Valley Drive to cul-de-sac)
- Holmes Street (alley west of 6th Street to 6th Street)
- Linden Lane (Hillside Drive to Spruce Hills Drive)
- Tanglewood Road (Sheffield Court to dead end)
- Weindruch Road (State Street to Devils Glen Park)
Weindruch Road will only be open to local traffic during construction and a detour to ensure the safety of the public and construction workers will be in place. To access Devils Glen Park, use the park entrance on Devils Glen Road.
