This Indiana Fever player set a 3-point shooting record — and it isn't Caitlin Clark

Lexie Hull leads the WNBA in 3-point shooting percentage and recently set an all-time record for her long-range accuracy.

INDIANAPOLIS — While Caitlin Clark sets her sights on the WNBA record book for 3-pointers, one of her own teammates is the most accurate deep-ball shooter in the league.

Through Monday, Sept. 9, Indiana's Lexie Hull has made 49.2% of her 3-pointers on the season, making 32 of 65 shots from long range in 30 games. That puts her just ahead of the 48.9% made by Washington Mystics center Stefanie Dolson.

She also set a league record, shooting 69.7% from deep over a 10-game span, according to the Fever.

Hull's current percentage is the ninth-best in WNBA history. Only eight players in the history of the league have shot 50% or better from beyond the arc.

Clark, known for her "logo threes" since her days at the University of Iowa, has hit 34.7% of her 3-pointers on the season. While that ranks 27th among WNBA players in 3-point percentage, her 111 3-pointers made and 320 attempted not only lead the league, but are among the tops all-time in WNBA history.

Clark's 111 3-pointers have already eclipsed the Fever team record of 102, set last season by Kelsey Mitchell, and currently rank the rookie guard sixth all-time in the WNBA. The league record was set last season by New York's Sabrina Ionescu, who made 128 3-pointers.

On Aug. 28, Clark broke the WNBA's previous rookie record of 85, set by Atlanta's Rhyne Howard two years ago.

The 320 attempted 3-pointers are the third-most by a player in WNBA history, trailing a pair of Notre Dame alumnae. Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings attempted 341 triples last year, while Seattle's Jewell Lloyd shot 323 a year ago. Ogunbowale (297) and Ionescu (287) are again among the league leaders in 3-point attempts this season.

The Fever, who have clinched their first playoff berth since 2016, are currently in sixth place in the WNBA. They trail Las Vegas by 3 1/2 games for the final home playoff spot with four games remaining, but host the Aces for two games this week.

Wednesday's game can be seen live on MeTV/WALV starting at 7 p.m. The same two teams will play Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Indiana closes out the regular season with a Sunday afternoon home game against Dallas and a road trip to Washington on Thursday night.
