Olympic gold medalists Simone Biles, Gabby Thomas cheer on Indiana Fever

A video posted by the Fever shows the players cheering and jumping up and down with excitement as they take photos with Thomas and Biles.

INDIANAPOLIS — Caitlin Clark arguably wasn't the biggest celebrity at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.

Olympic gold medalists Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas both attended the Indiana Fever's game against the Connecticut Sun Wednesday evening. The Fever pulled off an upset against the No. 2-ranked Sun, their first win against Connecticut since July 2021.

Clark also made history yet again, setting the WNBA rookie record for number of three-pointers made in a single season.

Biles knows a thing or two about breaking records.

With 11 Olympic medals, including seven golds, Biles is the most decorated American gymnast ever. In addition, Biles is only the third woman to become a two-time Olympic all-around champion.

Thomas is a feat unto herself: She won three gold medals at the 2024 Olympics, including in the women's 200m. Thomas also won a bronze and silver medal during the Tokyo Olympics.

So, it's no wonder the Indiana Fever players were thrilled to meet the Olympians. A video posted by the Fever shows the players cheering and jumping up and down with excitement as they take photos with Thomas and Biles.

"They were so excited!" Biles said in the video. "It's like, usually the boys will just pass me like 'Yo,' but [the Fever players] were so excited!"

"That was really cute, I loved that," Thomas added.

Biles also posted on X after the game, writing in part, "So happy to be able to go support! My first of many WNBA games."

Thomas shared the same sentiment, writing on her own account, "First WNBA game of many! Had so much fun supporting these stars."

As of Thursday morning, the Fever are 15-16 on the year and are seventh in the WNBA standings with nine games left to play. The top eight seeds qualify for the playoffs.
