Philadelphia Eagles sign former Hawkeye Cooper DeJean to rookie deal

DeJean, the 2024 NFL Draft's No. 40 overall pick (Round 2, Pick 8), made a name for himself during his college career with the Hawkeyes.

PHILADELPHIA — Former Iowa Hawkeye Cooper DeJean has officially signed his rookie contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. 

The Eagles shared the news on X, formerly known as Twitter, Monday afternoon and welcomed "COOOOOOOOOP" to the squad. 

DeJean, a defensive back and the 2024 NFL Draft's No. 40 overall pick (Round 2, Pick 8), made a name for himself during his college career. 

He joined the first-team for the Associated Press All-American and Big Ten Conference squads and won the Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year and Return Specialist of the Year in 2023.
