Iowa women's basketball transfer Lucy Olsen named to USA 3x3 Nations League team

Olsen and her teammates will compete at the 2024 FIBA 3x3 Nations League Americas Conference July 22-28 in Mexico City.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Senior Lucy Olsen will make her debut with the Iowa women's basketball team later this year, but before that, she'll be on the world stage.

Olsen was named to the 2024 USA 3x3 Nations League Team Friday afternoon, USA Basketball announced.

Olsen signed with the Hawkeyes back in April. The Collegeville, Pennsylvania native played at Villanova for three seasons.

Last season, Olsen was third in the country in scoring, right behind Iowa's own Caitlin Clark and USC's JuJu Watkins.

Olsen is no stranger to playing 3x3: She competed at the 2023 FIBA 3x3 U21 Nations League, and eventually helped the team win the 2023 FIBA 3x3 Nations League Final.

Olsen will be joined by fellow NCAA Division 1 athletes including Christina Dalce, Morgan Maly, Cotie McMahon, Mikaylah Williams and Serah Williams.

This year, the 3x3 Nations League will feature 13 conferences, including U23 and U21 teams. The Americas Conference will feature six three-game tournaments in a week.
