Iowa's Freeman notches sixth Big Ten honor

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa forward and Moline High School alum Owen Freeman has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the sixth time.

His latest honor comes after posting his third career double-double during Iowa's 94-76 victory against Nebraska on Jan. 12. Freeman scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the rout. Freeman made 11 field goals on 13 shots, the highest field goal percentage of any Hawkeye this season shooting at least 10 shots in a game. 

On the season, Freeman leads Big Ten freshmen in points, rebounds and blocks. 

Freeman and the Hawkeyes host No. 2 Purdue on Saturday.
