Assumption Senior Jake Gervase looks for completeness in his entire life, from sports to helping others.
During his four years, Gervase has been a member of the football, wrestling, baseball, and basketball teams. He also engages in student activities like the student hunger drive, student council, and peer mentoring.
“Growing up I always loved sports,” Gervase said. “Coming into high school, I knew I wanted to play a lot of sports.”
Teammates say Gervase is one of the best leaders on the Knights’ football team.
To incoming freshmen, Gervase said he would advise them to get involved in anything that interests them.
“I would just say to someone who is coming into the school to just have an open mind about things, whether it’s the sports you want to play, the clubs you want to join, or the classes you take,” said Gevase. “Once you look back you’ll be happy with the fact that you did get involved, that you did take that extra hour to try and make a difference for someone else; and that it’s a really great four years of high school here and just enjoy it.”
