Hy-Vee and INDYCAR announce multiyear partnership extension

Since it began back in 2022, Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend has become one of the most popular events in racing.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — On the eve of the 2024 Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend, Hy-Vee and INDYCAR announced that they are extending their partnership. Under a new multiyear deal, Hy-Vee will remain the title sponsor for the event.

“We are so proud to continue the partnership with Hy-Vee and build on the success of Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend well into the future,” Bud Denker, president of Penske Corporation which owns INDYCAR, told Local 5.

“With Hy-Vee’s vision and unwavering support, this event has continued to grow and expose new fans to INDYCAR," he said. "We thank the entire Hy-Vee team for their partnership and continued commitment to Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend, and we can’t wait to host another incredible event this weekend at Iowa Speedway.”

Since its inception back in 2022, the doubleheader weekend at Iowa speedway has become one of the most popular and unique events in motorsports. The combination of world class racing and concerts featuring popular musical acts continues to draw capacity crowds to Iowa Speedway each year.

"This event has been a great fit for Hy-Vee," said Hy-Vee's Executive Chairman of the Board, Randy Edeker, in INDYCAR's statement. "We look forward to continuing to support this race in Iowa by serving as the title sponsor in the years ahead. We set out to make this a world-class event and believe the momentum we have created will continue into the future as INDYCAR continues to gain more fans year after year."

The partnership between Hy-Vee and INDYCAR began in 2020 when Hy-Vee became a team sponsor for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in the NTT INDYCAR series.

"The commitment [Hy-Vee] has made to our sport is unlike anything else," INDYCAR driver Graham Rahal told Local 5. "They've been amazing partners. They've done a lot for this sport. They've done a lot for this community, and I hope people do recognize that."

Hy-Vee and INDYCAR's partnership isn't exclusive to Iowa. Hy-Vee is also the title sponsor of two NTT INDYCAR Series 250-mile races at the Hy-Vee Milwaukee Mile 250s Weekend.

Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend at Iowa Speedway begins on Friday, July 12 and runs through Sunday, July 14.
