GALESBURG, Ill. — Champions were crowned on Thursday at the Western Big 6 Cross Country Conference Meet at Lake Storey in Galesburg.
WB6 Boys Results
Geneseo's Dylan Gehl won the boy's individual contest with a time of 15:35.85, helping the Maple Leafs to a second place finish. Rounding out the top three were Elliot Batz (15:38.42) and Gabe Mahn (15:44.79) of Rock Island.
Quincy took the top spot in the boy's team competition, with the Blue Devils' securing five of the top nine spots.
WB6 Girls Results
In the girls' competition, Quincy's Peyton Kuhl won the individual championship with a time of 18:41.30. Kuhl's teammate Amick McClelland finished third (18:58.62) and Brooklyn Smith of Geneseo (18:55.08) finished as runner-up.
Led by Smith, Geneseo won the WB6 Girl's XC team championship.
