DAVENPORT, Iowa — LSU women’s basketball head coach Kim Mulkey visited the Quad Cities on Tuesday evening to watch five-star guard and future Tiger Divine Bourrage in action.
Bourrage and the Davenport North Wildcats took on the Central Dewitt Sabers in a battle of unbeaten squads. The Wildcats fell to the Sabers 52-42.
"The position she plays was the first thing. We needed a perimeter player. She can handle the point guard position, she can play the off-guard. I'm just going to enjoy that she's going to be an LSU Tiger. This was an opportunity, this week we're off because of finals. So myself and three coaches, we hopped a plane and here we are," Mulkey said.
Bourrage committed to Mulkey and the LSU Tigers in September.
The 5-foot-11 guard averaged 19.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists and three steals last season, leading the 22-3 Wildcats to a Mississippi Athletic Conference title and an Iowa Class 5A state tournament quarterfinals appearance.
According to ESPN, Bourrage is the top player in Iowa and the No. 12 recruit in the Class of 2025.
