Two-time champion Jordan Spieth returning to the John Deere Classic

The latest golfer to join the 2024 John Deere Classic field is a two-time JDC champion who has delivered some of the tournament's most memorable moments.

SILVIS, Ill. — The latest golfer to join the 2024 John Deere Classic (JDC) field is a two-time JDC champion who has delivered some of the most memorable moments in tournament history.

On Tuesday, June 18, tournament organizers announced that Jordan Spieth has officially joined the JDC field. Spieth won the JDC in 2013 and 2015. In 2013, Spieth played five playoff holes to win his first-ever PGA tournament at the JDC. 19 years old at the time, Spieth's victory marked the first time a teenager won the PGA Tour since Ralph Guldahl took the Santa Monica Open in 1931.

Spieth returned to the JDC in 2014, finishing in seventh place. A year later in 2015, Spieth won his second JDC title, once again needing playoff rounds to crown him the victor.

Spieth has 13 career wins under his belt, including the Masters Tournament and the U.S. Open in 2015 and The Open Championship in 2017. Spieth was ranked the top golfer in the world for much of 2015. Spieth has netted over $62 million in tournament winnings since he turned pro in 2012. According to the PGA Tour's official website, Spieth is currently ranked 29th in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Spieth will join the likes of fellow pros such as Patrick Cantlay and Jason Day when the tournament kicks off July 4.
