SILVIS, Ill. — It was another great day of golf at TPC Deere Run on Friday, as players teed off in the second round of the 2024 John Deere Classic Tournament.
The number of players on the field will be lower for the second half of the tournament, as those ranking towards the bottom will be cut.

Two players who won't have to worry about that though are Taiwanese golfer C.T. Pan and English golfer Aaron Rai. Both sit in first place after Round Two at a total 14 under par. Yesterday's leader and history maker Hayden Springer is tied for fourth with Eric Cole, Davis Thompson, Denny McCarthy, Luke Clanton and Sungjae Im at 12 under. Harry Hall is in third at 13 under.
Many eyes still remained on one group of former JDC champions, including J.T. Poston, Jordan Spieth and Zach Johnson, as the three teed off together again Friday.
Here's where they stand after Round Two:
- Zach Johnson: T18 at 10 under par
- J.T. Poston: T39 at 7 under par
- Jordan Spieth: T47 at 6 under par
Defending JDC Champion Sepp Straka sits at 5 under par and is tied for 59th place.
