SILVIS, Ill. — Arguably the Quad Cities' biggest sporting event is back! Tournament play for the 2024 John Deere Classic will officially tee off on Thursday, July 4.
WQAD is proud to once again be the official station for the tournament. As you prepare to head to the course and catch the action, here's what you should know in advance.
What are the dates for the John Deere Classic?
While the John Deere Classic is technically July 1-7, tournament play doesn't start until Thursday, July 4 at 7 a.m. Events will be taking place Monday and Tuesday but those aren't open to the public.
The course officially opens to the public on Wednesday, July 3 for the John Deere Classic Pro-Am.
Last year's pro-am brought in hundreds of people as basketball star Caitlin Clark teed off alongside fellow Iowa native Zach Johnson. That Iowa basketball energy continues this year, with former Hawkeye and current Sacramento King forward Keegan Murray set to tee off with Johnson this year in the pro-am.
There are four rounds of golf starting Thursday and ending Sunday. Play starts at 7 a.m. each day, July 4-7.
More information on the schedule of events can be found here.

Everything will take place at TPC Deere Run, located at 3100 Heather Knoll in Silvis, Illinois. It's a par 71 course and stretches 7,289 yards.
Who is playing in the John Deere Classic?

Top 10 world golfer Patrick Cantlay had also committed to playing in the John Deere Classic for the first time ever. However, due to an injury sustained during training, Cantlay had to withdraw on Monday.
An up-to-date field list for the John Deere Classic can be found here.
