DAVENPORT, Iowa — Davenport North junior Divine Bourrage has been named the Gatorade Iowa Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
The award, which celebrates the nation's top high school athletes, is given to the state's best athlete in their respective sport.
Bourrage is the first Gatorade girls basketball player of the year from Davenport North, and the first girls basketball player from the Quad-Cities to earn the award since Rock Island's Brea Beal in 2019.
The 6-foot guard averaged 19.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists and three steals this past season, leading the 22-3 Wildcats to a Mississippi Athletic Conference title and an Iowa Class 5A state tournament quarterfinals appearance.
In North's quarterfinals loss to Cedar Falls, led the Wildcats with 24 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and four assists. She earned all-tournament team honors and was a first team all-state selection.
Bourrage is the nation's ninth ranked prospect in the class of 2025 by espnW. She has received offers from several Division I schools, including Iowa, Iowa State and Illinois, as well as top-ranked South Carolina.
