So you want to know more about me, huh?
“Let’s start at the very beginning – a very good place to start…”
I was born a #summerbaby as Angela MITCHUM, before I met a John Deere man named Zach who turned my world upside down as I turned his world into something very organized, clean, and decorated. Love is a beautiful, coordinated-pillows-and-clean-sheets thing…
Before that though, I grew up in Downers Grove, Illinois (GO MUSTANGS!) with my parents – Bev and Bob or Bob and Bev – and older brother, Rob. I spent most of my DG days dancing, singing, and acting, connecting with my inner Sporty Spice, performing musicals and talent shows in my basement, writing really emotional poetry, playing softball, and being brought up as a St. Louis Cardinals fan in the Chicago suburbs.
I grew up visiting family who still lived in the Quad Cities, as well as my Grandpa and Dad’s Alma Mater – Augustana College. BAM! – That’s how the QCA become more than just a REALLY boring drive across the state of Illinois to me. I graduated from Augie in 2008 with a double major in Speech Communications and English and without taking an Accounting class – something my Dad is probably still shaking his head about.
While in college, I interned at WQAD-TV (ABC) and my passion to be a Journalist grew and grew. By the time I graduated, there was no doubt in mind to follow my heart. Soon, I was back at WQAD working a 10pm-7am shift (no, I did not mix that up) as a Producer of “Good Morning Quad Cities.” Today, I sit on the desk as an Anchor during the weekend and am out in the field as a Reporter a few days during the week. In one word, it’s awesome.
I spend my time, well, doing all the things that I’m blogging about. I am dedicated to a healthy and active lifestyle, indulging in moderation, having fun with fashion, attempting to be a DIY-er, enjoying life as a Puppy Parent, and putting the “living” in “life.”
The Sharp Side is all about that. I love writing so much and I’m very excited to share this part of me… with you. I hope you find what I have to say interesting and maybe even inspirational. I would love to hear what you think, what you want to know, and what your story is.
This is mine.
Love, A
(NOT the “A” in #PLL, I promise)
