XPAC opens free, onsite health clinic for employees in Milan

The company partnered with Genesis Health to make the onsite facility a reality, which will provide acute care, wellness education and occupational health services.

MILAN, Ill. — On Monday, July 5, XPAC opened a free, on-site health clinic for its employees. It was made possible through a partnership with Genesis Health System.

The facility is just steps away for those on the job site, and XPAC CEO Greg Ruggles says it will serve over 1,100 employees. The clinic will provide acute care, wellness education and occupational health services at no cost. He said this can also help ease struggles, like the rising costs of healthcare insurance and the difficulty of getting in to see a physician.

"This is going to be a great resource to give employees access to high-quality healthcare," he said.

The clinic will be managed by Genesis Occupational Health and staffed with a nurse practitioner and medical assistant. It will be supervised by a Genesis staff physician.

Dan Ludgate with Genesis Occupational Health said that many people in the Quad Cities don’t see healthcare physicians for routine check-ups, so when they do, it's often for something more critical.

"Our goal is to help identify possible chronic issues, like diabetes and high blood pressure, and help somebody get established with a primary care physician if they're not already," Ludgate said. "That way they can have that condition managed."

The facility has two exam rooms, a lab and a waiting room.
