MARENGO, Iowa — One person is dead after a Monday morning accident in Iowa County involving a semi.
Around 8:14 a.m. on Monday, March 11, a semi was traveling eastbound along Highway 6 Trail near Marengo when a 2009 Ford Fusion pulled out onto the road from North Avenue. The semi struck the driver's side of the vehicle, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report.
One person was killed and two others were injured, the crash report shows. Both injured individuals were transported to local hospitals. It's unclear how many occupants were in each vehicle. The identities of those involved are being withheld pending notification.
The Iowa County Sheriff's Office, the Iowa County Medical Examiner's Office, Amana QRS, Blairstown Ambulance and Belle Plaine Ambulance assisted at the scene.
