One person dead after vehicle crash in eastern Iowa

First responders in Delaware County are investigating what caused the crash.

DELAWARE COUNTY, Iowa — One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Delaware County, Iowa. 

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a semi collided with a pickup truck around 3:25 p.m. on Thursday, March 7. The crash happened on 210th St. West just east of Earlville. 

The crash report says the pickup truck was driving eastbound when it crossed the centerline for an unknown reason and crashed head-on with the semi. 

The driver of the pickup truck, 59-year-old Terry Meyer, died at the scene.   

The driver of the semi, a 50-year-old man, was transported to a hospital to be treated for their injuries. 

The accident is under investigation.
