ROCK FALLS, Ill. — On Wednesday, Nov. 30, Illinois State Police were dispatched to Interstate 88 in Whiteside County after reports came in of a multiple-vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, three truck tractor semi-trailers and one passenger vehicle were found blocking both lanes of traffic on I-88 eastbound near mile marker 42 near Rock Falls.
Scattered across the roadway was approximately 45,000 pounds of meat.
Drivers during this time were diverted to Illinois Route 40, with the interstate reopening those lanes at about 3:30 Thursday morning.
One person was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
