Trump rallies supporters in Davenport

Even though his words get the crowd energized, some supporters thought Trump may be lacking substance.

The leader for the Republican nomination for President, greeted with thunderous applause. Donald Trump meets hundreds of his supporters inside the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds.

Just outside, the support isn't so strong as protesters share their frustrations.

"We think that this candidate's policies are just out of whack with working Iowans. He has the same policies that conservatives have touted for decades," protester David Patterson said.

Protesting didn't interrupt Trump on Saturday as he continues to hammer away at challengers like Hillary Clinton, who he called soft and weak.

"Hillary, you ever notice this? You don't see her for four to five days, then she awakens, puts on her pantsuit, goes out. It doesn't impress me," Trump said.

"I think he was right on. We've got to get this country going and take it back from people who don't have the country's best interest at heart," Trump supporter Christopher Unseth said.

When speaking about terrorism, Trump says that there needs to be a drastic change in demeanor.

"We're going to be so tough and so mean and so nasty, that [expletive] is not going to happen anymore," Trump said.

Even though his words get the crowd energized, some supporters thought Trump may be lacking substance.

"I can look at a poll online myself. I don't need to come here and hear about it. It's something to be proud of. I come here to learn more about the policies," Trump supporter Joe Krezeok said.

Trump now looks ahead to February and the Iowa Republican caucus.
