People in Bettendorf were starstruck when an actor from ABC's "Scandal" made a political stop in one Quad Cities home. This was one of many stops Tony Goldwyn made in Iowa on Saturday and Sunday, December 12 and 13, 2015.
He came to support presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
"Hillary does not back down from any fight when it's about something she knows to be right," says Goldwyn.
He focused on key points to Clinton's political agenda including reducing college debt for students, working towards equal pay for women, and making police body cameras a nationwide requirement.
Goldwyn says exercising his right to freedom of speech is important to him in particular, and that he's going to use his star power to encourage others to get out and vote.
"I'm really lucky that because I'm on film and television that I have the ability to make people curious initially. Then I can use my voice to shine a light on issues that I think people need to be aware of," says Goldwyn.
And he says now's that time with the Iowa caucus less than two months away.
"I feel like we have to fight as hard for Hillary right now as we know she will fight for us when she's sitting in that Oval Office actually doing the job instead of pretending to do the job as I do every week on TV," says Goldwyn.
But when it comes to President Fitz's allegiance in this election, there's no pretending who he's backing.
