ELDRIDGE, Iowa — Casey DeSantis, the wife of Republican presidential candidate, Ron DeSantis made a stop in Eldridge, Iowa on Friday, Oct. 13. This comes on the heels of the DeSantis Campaign pouring $2 million dollars worth of advertisements into the Hawkeye state.
"I've noticed something very special when I've been here campaigning," Casey DeSantis said. "And that is you will see people, when Ron is doing a town hall or I'm speaking, with legal pads full of information. The people of Iowa take this process very seriously."
These political campaigns not only keep Iowans on the pulse of American politics; they also provide a boost to the state's economy.
"Oh my gosh, it's fantastic," Davenport resident Rebecca Axtman said. "My husband and I have been to a few different campaigns and it's been so interesting to see the different areas and how they're putting money into the economy."
The DeSantis campaign has stopped in 74 of Iowa's 99 counties. The Hawkeye state continues to be a linchpin in American politics as it holds onto its first-in-the-nation caucuses.
"I think Iowa has a lot of power," Bettendorf resident Heather Stocking said. "I think there's a lot of women here today that are just looking to continue to keep Iowa in the front."
When it comes to the House of Representatives sitting speaker-less, Casey DeSantis says she agrees with a lot of the frustration Americans are having towards Washington. On the war in Israel, she says we need to unite as Americans and "say what is happening overseas is an atrocity."
Iowa Republicans will hold their caucuses on Jan. 15. It will be the earliest start since 2012, when they were held on Jan. 3.
