ST PAUL, Minn. — Gov. Tim Walz's first debate as vice-presidential candidate could soon be set.
The Minnesota governor, and Democratic VP candidate, posted on social media "See you on October 1, JD," while responding to a statement from CBS News about potential dates for a New York City debate.
"Harris for President has accepted CBS' invitation to a Vice Presidential Candidate Debate on October 1," the campaign said in a statement. "Governor Walz looks forward to debating JD Vance -- if he shows up."
According to CBS News, both Walz and Ohio Sen. JD Vance were sent four dates to choose from. While Walz has made his preferred date known, it's unclear if Vance has also agreed to debate on Oct. 1.
Walz has been holding solo events this week, the first time since being named Kamala Harris' running mate. He's focused heavily on joy and positivity, while also pushing a pro-union agenda. Meanwhile, Vance has been targeting Harris by criticizing her stance on immigration, while calling her out for not speaking to the media.
