Retired Lieutenant General Michael T. Flynn is the latest name to be thrown into the mix of potential Donald Trump running mates. Flynn is a 33-year Army veteran with a reputation for being unafraid to shake things up.
And he did just that this morning on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos." Flynn was asked where he stands on the topic of abortion.
Flynn explained, "I think women have to be able to choose... sort of, the right of choice." He added, "They are the ones that have to make the decision because they're the ones that are going to decide to bring up that child or not."
Flynn's comments suggest he is pro-choice, which is a position typically held by Democrats rather than Republicans. Flynn is still a registered Democrat, and he has been all his life. However, he says he didn't vote much while in the military because he supported whomever the commander-in-chief was.
In recent years, Flynn has been highly critical of President Obama's policies.
