U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa is fighting back after being accused of blocking a bill that would make medical cannabis more accessible in Iowa.
Friday, May 13, state Sen. Rob Hogg joined supporters of a bill that would move cannabis from a Schedule I drug to a Schedule II drug.
Hogg claims that by not taking action, Grassley is keeping medicine out of the hands of families that need it. Grassley says if cannabis is a Schedule II drug we could end up with 50 states with different laws on the matter.
Grassley says he also has concerns about the process of making cannabis oil. Foremost, though, he says reclassifying marijuana would be the first step toward nationwide legalization.
