Woman found guilty in 2022 East Moline accident that left 1 dead

Kendra Lee Curtis was arrested back in 2022 after she lost control of her vehicle while driving under the influence, resulting in the death of Amia Weathers.

EAST MOLINE, Ill. — Editor's Note: The video attached originally aired on Nov. 10, 2022, when Kendra Curtis was arrested in connection to the fatal accident. 

A Moline woman has been sentenced to numerous years in prison after a 2022 rollover accident left one dead, according to court documents.

Kendra Lee Curtis, 23, was arrested back in November 2022 after she lost control of her vehicle while driving under the influence. The accident resulted in the death of 22-year-old Amia Weathers. Curtis and another passenger, a 24-year-old East Moline man, were injured and sent to the hospital.

On Thursday, Nov. 9, Curtis was found guilty of one count of aggravated driving under the influence resulting in a death or serious injury. She has been sentenced to eight and a half years in prison with two years of mandatory supervised release.
