On Friday, Feb. 2, officers announced that 42-year-old Kristin Kisich of Custer Park was being charged with failure to report and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving death. Officers said that around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 4, 40-year-old Patrick J. Yocum of Rock Falls was walking near the intersection of Sterling Road and Walton Road when he was struck by a Jeep Cherokee. Yocum was found in the middle of the road by a passerby. He was transported to an area hospital by the Amboy Fire Department where he was later pronounced deceased.

After sending out a media release on Dec. 5 identifying the suspect vehicle, officers said that Kisich contacted the department, claiming she may be responsible for the incident. After interviewing Kisich and investigating the crash further, officers made the decision to charge her.
